After our sunbathing in Roccapina beach we continued our day trip to a town called Sartene. In fact, we combined a visit to the city Sartene with sunbathing on the beach Roccapina. At Roccapina there are large natural rock formations, some in the shapes of animals like as the 'Lion of Roccapina', a small picturesque bay and a large plage.

The settlement of Sartene is situated in south-west Corsica a few kilometres into the mountains south-east of Propriano and among Porto-Vecchio (to the east) and Ajaccio (to the north-west). Sartene is a commune in the Corse-du-Sud section of France on the island of Corsica. Its chronicle dates back to medieval times and stonework buildings from the early 16th century still line a number of of the streets.

Despite its from the outside high red crenellated walls buttressed with tall pointed towers, it looks more spacious than from the inside. We went from Korinthos to Nafplio - 65 km. Traveling with car from Korinthos to Nafplio was comfortable. There was two lane high way and prety good one lane greece highway.

We were looking arround following road tables and signs. Unexpectedly we saw road table with inscription Mikines. I was trying to find Mikines in our Map of ancient Greece - of course Mycenae - ancient Mycenae.

What was actually Mycenae? The Mycenaean period flourished between 1600 BC and the collapse of their Bronze-Age civilization around 1100 BC. The collapse is commonly attributed to the Dorian invasion, although many archaeologists and historians now doubt that any such invasion took place.

The major Mycenaean city-sites were Mycenae and Tiryns in the Argolid, Pylos in Messenia, Athens in Attica, Thebes and Orchomenos in Boeotia, and Iolkos in Thessaly. In Crete, Mycenaeans occupied the ruins of Knossos. In addition there were some sites of importance for cult, such as Lerna, typically in the form of house sanctuaries. Mycenaean settlement sites also appeared on islands in the Aegean, on the coast of Asia Minor, and then in Cyprus.

Mycenaean civilization was dominated by a warrior aristocracy. Around 1400 BC, the Mycenaeans extended their control to Crete, center of the Minoan civilization, and adopted a form of the Minoan script called Linear A to write their early form of Greek. The Mycenaean era script is called Linear B.

Report from trip Tolo - Hydra Greece

The temperature was 42 degrees. The natives said that for the end of june is just normal situation. We stayed overnight in privat hotel in Tolo near Nafplio. Next day in the early morning (at 8:00) my girl-friend and me went with car to Hydra. Because Hydra is island we plan trip from Tolo - Ancient Epidavros - Ermioni by car (80 km 2 houres) and from Ermioni - Hydra by boat.

Well the plan had misstake. When we arrived port in Ermioni, the ferry boat has allready depart . So many kilometer and time for almoast nothing. It was 10:00 a clock and next departure of boat should be at 15:00 ....oooughhh. After first scok, anger, bear and cheas cake we continue trip from Ermioni to Porto Cheli. We did not forgot that we planed trip on Hydra, so we ran to the first Sheep Office asked for boat depart to Hydra. This time we had to have luck. Depart of hydrofoil should be in 30 minutes. Yesssssss. Let s go to Hydra. Hydrofoil was almost empty and sailyng was very atratctive specialy landing in port.

We arrived Hydra port in one and a half houre and get out in the hustle and bustle of the town. A tiny harbor ringed with cafes, restaurants and gold shops is surrounded by a village of stone houses and villas that rise up the hills like an amphitheatre. But one of the best things about Hydra is that there are no cars. Everything is moved by donkey, including groceries, building supplies, people and their luggage.

Magical Hydra, where there are three new properties, is an island which, with its stunning architecture and absence of motor vehicles, is a must for those looking to completely chill-out. The Hotels and Studios on Hydra, are good choices for couples looking for total privacy. They are set on the hill above the town and have superb views of the port. Price for the two bedroom studio is from £1872 including daily maid service.

I like hiking in the mountain or by the sea and like to make pictures with photo everywhere. It is very important what kind of equipment you have with us and hove heavy it is. So I buyed litlle, light and usefull Canon camera PowerShot A520 with Canon camera software.

It was before two years. In this time I made more than 7000 pictures. All that pictures was downloaded from camera to my PC and there was presented with Canon camera software.

And than have became crash of my PC disk. I have had lucky because all the picture have been save on the camera chips. The recovery should be easy but unfortunately I have not CD disc with Canon camera software for Powershot A520. I try everywhere on the internet and finaly I find it.
